National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has on Tuesday (12/9/17) revealed the reason why former Meru governor, Peter Munya, left the coalition barely a week after leaving the Jubilee Party.
According to Raila, Munya left NASA because he was under pressure.
Speaking in a TV interview, the former Prime Minister did not explain in detail who was behind Munya’s drastic move.
The Opposition chief indicated that Munya’s action will not affect his votes from the Meru community.
Raila reiterated that NASA will not go the repeat presidential election slated for with a faulty Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
“Issues that were raised at the Supreme Court have not been addressed by IEBC. The commission does not appreciate the magnitude of the problem that we have,” he pointed out.
When Munya joined NASA as an equal co-principal (6th principal), he assured that he would lead Raila’s agenda in the larger Meru region.
Addressing the media, Munya said he wanted to be on the right side of history.
The former chairman, Council of Governors (CoG), accused Jubilee of rigging him out in the Meru governor race on August 8.
He also thanked the Chief Justice, David Maraga, and the Judiciary for a sober and balanced ruling that went down as historic in Africa, when the court invalidated President Uhuru’s win.
