French youngster Anthony Martial’s incredible goal scoring form continued, as United eased 3-0 past Ipswich Town in the League Cup.
United skipper Wayne Rooney got his first domestic goal of the season to put United ahead against their Championship opponents, who made 11 changes in the squad for the game.
Young Brazillian midfielder Andreas Pereira, 19, scored a stunning free-kick to double the lead on his first start for the Red Devils. Substitute Martial also 19, exquisitely slotted home a third in injury time.
The strike moved Anthony Martial’s incredible goal scoring tally to four goals in as many games, since signing from Monaco for a record £36 million, for a teenager.
Fellow substitute Memphis Depay controlled the ball into his path before the Frenchman stroked beyond Bartosz Bialkowski in the Ipswich goal. The goal of the night however went to Andreas Perreira who curled in a spectacular free-kick.
Manchester United will face Middlesbrough, who beat fellow Championship side Wolves 3-0 on Tuesday, at home in the next round.
