Rojo and Depay future at Man United

Valencia are reportedly in talks with Manchester United over the sale of Marcos Rojo.

The Man United defender has been left out of the EPL fixtures to date, with Luke Shaw preferred at left-back and Eric Bailly and Daley Blind starting at centre-back.

Rojo is preferred by Valencia as the ideal man to help bolster their defence after Shkodran Mustafi departed to Arsenal.

Marcos Rojo debuted in United from Sporting Lisbon at a fee of £16 million in August 2014. The 2016 Community Shield winners signed him on a five-year contract.

The defender missed three matches for United due to hitches in gaining a work permit, because of pending criminal charges in Argentina, where he is alleged to have had an altercation with a neighbour in 2010.

Memphis Depay is also on the verge of leaving United before the deadline on Wednesday (31/8/16.

“Depay is available for transfer, although any club looking to sign him will have to stump up close to the £26 million that United paid for his services just last summer,” Sam Wallace of Daily Telegraph wrote.

The winger, who was recently dropped by Netherlands, scored just five goals for United in all competitions last season, according to WhoScored.com

Under Louis van Gaal, Depay managed just two Premier League goals and eight starts, but was determined to shine when Jose Mourinho took over this season.

He also missed an FA Cup final squad exclusion under Gaal in May, but his attitude away from Manchester in the close season impressed fans desperate for him to become a regular.

Mourinho has vowed to utilise every player in September following the international break.
