Police are waiting to question Member of Kiambu County Assembly Samuel Gitau about his alleged abduction. The MCA was found in Naivasha’s Kinungi area along the Nakuru—Nairobi Highway after he had been missing for 8 days.
The Juja ward representative had left his home on March 7th to withdraw money from an ATM in Juja town but failed to return. His vehicle was discovered the next morning near his home sparking suspicions of foul play. Investigations into the disappearance revealed nothing.
Gitau told the police that he was in a car boot for a long time but he managed to free himself from a moving vehicle. This claim has been put under the spotlight by the police who are waiting for the MCA to be discharged from the Aga Khan Hospital where he is receiving treatment for various injuries. Investigators are hoping Gitau can shed more light on the incident of his disappearance and alleged abduction.
Mr. Gitau was rescued by a farmer, Mr. Patrick Mugo , who found him staggering on the road on Sunday 15th March. Good Samaritans took Gitau to the home of Samuel Waithuku Njane who is the Nakuru County Assembly majority leader. Kiambu Governor William Kabogo arrived later with a team of his associates and took Gitau to Aga Khan Hospital.
