Mutahi Ngunyi blasts NASA strategist David Ndii

Controversial political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has taken a swipe at National Super Alliance (NASA) strategist, Dr David Ndii, following his apprehension on Sunday night.

Mr Ngunyi blasted Opposition leader, Raila Odinga, saying he was using Dr Ndii to gain political mileage.

Ngunyi added Ndii was naive and would suffer the consequences alone.

“David Ndii is being naive with his braggadocio. His wife should not talk about under-clothes on TV. The couple is being used by foxy Baba,” the outspoken analyst said in a tweet.

Ndii was released from custody on a police bond of Sh10, 000 from the Pangani Police Station in Nairobi on Monday evening.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Keriako Tobiko ordered the release of the renowned economist.

The DPP ordered the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to free Ndii on police bond pending investigations.

Further, the DPP directed that once investigations are completed, the resultant inquiry file be forwarded to the National Prosecution Authority for appropriate directions.

Ndii was arrested on Sunday while on vacation with his family in Diani, Kwale County before being transferred to the DCI headquarters on Kiambu Road.

He was detained there for the better part of the day with pressure coming from his wife Mwende Gatabaki, NASA leader Raila Odinga and other leaders for his release.

Ndii was appointed by the NASA coalition to head the People’s Assembly National Steering Committee among other six leaders.

The team comprises; Judy Sijeny, Hamida Kibwana, Dr Mutakha Kangu, Oduor Ong’wen, Koitamet ole Kina and former East African Legislative Assembly MP Peter Mathuki.

Raila said on Monday that the coalition would not be cowed by arrests or intimidation of its leaders by the Jubilee regime.

He added that the outfit would not relent in pushing for reforms in the country.

“They have tried so many ways to stop us – including threats, intimidation, arrests and even killing our people – but they don’t know we have several ways of skinning a cat,” said Raila.

The former prime minister also noted that other leaders from his brigade would be arrested, but should face the authorities head to fight for a better Kenya.
