Mr. Entrepreneur: Creativity will set you apart

Entrepreneurs seem to be achievement oriented persons, those who like to take risk and are responsible for their actions. However, being a creative entrepreneur requires high level of energy and great degree of perseverance and imagination, which if you combine with willingness to take moderate, calculated risk, will enable you to transform your idea into something concrete.

It is not enough being an entrepreneur, there are so many entrepreneurs. Ask yourself the following question; what is it that will set you apart from other entrepreneurs? The answer is simple, your creativity will definitely set you apart from others. The path to creative entrepreneurship is always not smooth, there are a lot of challenges to overcome and learning experiences can sometimes be tough.

Every entrepreneur always begin from ground zero, armed with the start up cash. What you need is a strong vision and a will, and then apply creativity, definitely, you will succeed. Remember at this point you do not need lack.

The following steps will help you become a creative entrepreneur:

Understand the market.

In most of my writings, I have always insisted on the need to understand your market. I have always done so because I have realized that failure to understand your market will automatically kill your business. Let’s say for example, you have a little cash to venture into food and beverages, you have to first of all do what is called a market research. This will help you understand the type of audience you are dealing with, whether they need your product or not, who are your main competitors, what are some of the tactics they are using to pull more customers? This way you will be entering the market knowing what to expect.

Do what you love most.

Doing what you love will automatically increase the level of your creativeness, because, you will be looking at ways on how to improve on a daily basis, trying to apply a little creativity on a daily basis to perfect the quality of your service. Let us take example of a passionate videographer, or a person who loves recording video, if you realize that your main problem is shaking, you will search in books, ask friends, even in the internet on ways of how to minimize your shaking. Doing what you love will make you not to lose hope even in the bad days, those days when you have no customers.

Trust your courage.

Trusting in your courage (having guts) will move you through the hardest times, will help you also help you fight the fear of the unknown. You have to have guts to start selling a Christian movie in an area where there are no Christians, hoping that you will get some people who will buy your goods. You have to have guts to open a library in an area where there are no schools, hoping that you will get people to read your books. It is called trusting in your courage and having hope. According to saint Agustina, Hope has two beautiful daughters – their names are anger and courage; anger at the way things are, and courage to see that they do not remain the way they are.

Have what it takes.

As the saying goes, it does not matter where you are right now, what matters is where you want to go and whether you have what it takes to get there. Opening a business is one thing, but moving it to the next level is also another thing, however, moving your business to the next level requires creativity. Most of the biggest companies in the world today begun in a small way. It does not matter how you started, the most important thing is whether you reached your desired destination. This calls for patience and perseverance, the desire to take risk and seek out alternatives. You have to create a way to work that does not compromise your values, or restrict your creativity. Do not be in a hurry to get rich.

Finally, you have to understand that starting a business on a small budget offers a lot of challenges, what you need to understand is that how you approach these challenges will determine the final success or failure of your venture. You have to know how to sly your demons. You have to develop a successful formula and be creative.
