Moses Kuria attacks Opposition ahead of Uhuru’s inauguration

Gatundu South legislator Moses Kuria has blasted Opposition leaders ahead of President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta’s swearing in.

The controversial Member of Parliament (MP) said that NASA leaders were planning to swear in their leader Raila Odinga at the Jacaranda grounds in Embakasi, Nairobi.

“Dont be fooled. They will swear in Raila in Embakasi. Then he will say it was the people’s decision not his,” said Mr Kuria.

President-elect Uhuru will be sworn in Tuesday (28/11/17) at the Moi International Sports Complex Kasarani in Nairobi.

The National Super Alliance is also expected to hold a memorial service to pray with families of those allegedly killed by police during demonstrations against the repeat presidential election in October.

The President on Sunday called on Raila Odinga to dialogue.

He said that through dialogue most of the problems Kenyans face would be solved.

Uhuru added that if the two political factions maintain their hardline stances, the country would be plunged into chaos and bloodshed.

“Let them continue with their lives as we debate the merits and demerits of our different programmes. Kenyans do not want to shed blood or to be enjoined in political arguments but to live together in unity. In a democracy we must compete. But we do not compete based on dialect. We don’t compete based on colour. We compete on ideas. If we have differences it is okay in the political world.

“That’s why we compete because we do things differently but that does not mean we cannot live and coexist. Let us work out how we plan our different agendas without affecting the daily lives of the people,” he said.

Deputy President William Ruto urged Kenyans to shun those preaching hate, negative ethnicity and divisive politics.

“Today, let us all resolve that we will refuse hate, resist negative ethnicity and reject divisive politics so that we can live together as one people – the people of the great nation of Kenya,” the DP said.

DP Ruto said he was in church with the President to fulfill a covenant they made with God that if He grants them victory they will glorify Him.
