When things are not moving as planned, it is always good to remember why you started your business in the first place. Running a small business can be tough and demanding at times, but remember one thing, where you want to go will determine the amount of strength you will use. It is automatic that if you want to go far, you must use much more strength.
According to Paul Ryan, behind every small business, there’s a story worth knowing. All the corner shops in our towns and cities, the restaurants, cleaners, gyms, hair salons, hardware stores – these didn’t come out of nowhere. It is believed that about half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is determination and perseverance.
Think of the big names you know and seek to know the story behind their success, most of them begun in a small way, nobody thought they would be what they are now, but because they were determined to reach their destination in life, they did not listen to the voice in the straits.
Around the world, and especially in Kenya, there are plenty of people who have tiny businesses. These enterprises are called microbusinesses and the people who start them are called micro entrepreneurs. Micro entrepreneurs are sometimes looked down upon simply because their businesses are tiny, but many of them contribute significantly to the economy. They are the ones who later blossom into be big names in our economies.
Beginning small may not be an issue, as the saying goes, it does not matter where you are today or where you were yesterday. What matters is where you want to be tomorrow. People have started businesses with small amounts of money, beginning modestly, without fanfare and often without great expectations. But later in life emerge to be the role model entrepreneurs.
It only takes a great idea, motivation, persistence, and a little luck, to see you through in life. Do not lose hope no matter how big the mountain may seem. Loosing hope is only left for failures who are to some extent helpless in their situations.
No matter how small your business is, you can still make it to greatness. Do not lose hope, fight your way to riches.
